Soni creates paintings which are often enhanced by found objects and stabilizing elements such as cement and shellac. Her works are non-representational, usually on a square format, and frequently with a limited color palette. Her goal is to achieve a sensual tactile creation with the appearance, as well as the reality, of opposing textures. The viewer should feel the need to touch the art - to see with the hands as well as the eyes. Edvard Munch once defined art as "the image on the back side of the eyes" – Soni would like you to perceive her art in this way.
